Raleigh Museums Recognized Among Nation’s Best Free Attractions

Raleigh is gaining national recognition for its world-class museums that offer free admission. A recent survey by USA Today ranks two of the city’s institutions among the top free museums in the United States.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences secured the No. 3 spot, trailing only the Saint Louis Science Center in Missouri and the top-ranked National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center in Columbus, Georgia. The museum, known for its engaging exhibits on wildlife, paleontology, and environmental science, continues to be a top destination for visitors of all ages.

The North Carolina Museum of Art also earned a place on the list, ranking No. 8 among the nation’s best free museums. With an extensive collection of European masterpieces, American art, and outdoor installations, the museum remains a cultural landmark in the state.

Additionally, Raleigh’s Marbles Kids Museum was recognized as one of the best museums for children, ranking No. 6 in the country. The top honor in this category went to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

With these accolades, Raleigh further solidifies its reputation as a hub for accessible, high-quality cultural experiences.
