Police: Woman Charged with Murder After Overnight Shooting at North Carolina Apartment Complex
A Raleigh woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting at an apartment complex early Saturday morning, according to police.
The Raleigh Police Department took Debria Nicole Moore, 31, into custody just hours after launching an investigation into one of two overnight shootings. Officers responded to a shooting call around 3:28 a.m. at the Case de Luna apartment complex on Bonneville Court, where they discovered 28-year-old Ashley Surles suffering from a gunshot wound. Surles later died from her injuries.
In addition to the murder charge, Moore faces felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and felony maintenance of a vehicle, dwelling, or place for keeping or selling a controlled substance.
Moore is currently being held without bond under a 48-hour hold at the Wake County Detention Center.
